Flyers vs. Rangers: Jakub Voracek scores with his neck

Once again, a puck hit a player’s facial area. This time it paid off.

The Flyers have escaped yet another potential scary injury situation, and this time they even got a goal out of it.

The Flyers came out of the second intermission down two goals and pressing for a comeback. Jakub Voracek got in the goal crease and managed to deflect a high shot into the net. At first glance it appeared like it went off his face, but Voracek pointed to his neck as he skated to the bench.

When you watch it, it’s amazing he wasn’t injured by the shot.

Seriously, just a few inches higher and that hits him square in the mouth. Unfortunately for Philadelphia, the comeback didn't really amount to much. Rick Nash scored minutes later to restore New York's two-goal lead.

But the Flyers should be grateful they have such a gritty player in Voracek. One could even say he stuck his neck out for the team.
