Mr. T scores goal at Blackhawks game
“I PITY THE PUCK!”
The Blackhawks have a tradition of holding shoot-the-puck competitions from center ice of the United Center during intermission. Most nights they feature lucky fans.
On Wednesday, they featured Mr. T.
We’re not kidding. Wearing a “Mr. T” Blackhawks jersey and a red, white and blue bandana, Mr. T stepped up to center ice to take three shots.
Of course, he wasn’t going to do it quietly. During his pre-shot interview, Mr. T denounced the idea of practice (Allen Iverson is nodding somewhere) and gave us his signature line.
“I PITY THE PUCK!”
The PA started to play the A-Team theme song. Mr. T stepped up. And then he nailed the shot. Well, not the first two. He teased us with two wide shots. But he shot the third right down broadway, much to the delight of the crowd and America.
He got three more chances to do it again, but failed each time. And then he threw out conspiracy theories, yelling that it was a setup. Naturally.
Can this happen every game? Please? At every sporting event? Also, why haven’t we made Mr. T our next ambassador to North Korea yet?
