Nathan Gerbe must not have seen the "you must be this tall to fight" sign at the arena entrance. Steve Oleksy dumped Kevin Porter into the boards behind the net, and Gerbe took issue with the hit.

Unlikely fighting partners, right? Gerbe didn’t think so.
I hate to demean Gerbe for what was a pretty noble thing to do, but...he’s just so adorable. Look at him! His fists of fury are flying furiously and he can’t even reach Oleksy’s face. And Oleksy is just holding him at arm’s length like something out of a Looney Tunes cartoon. It’s so cute.
In all seriousness, he got a rousing ovation from the fans. And deservedly so. The little guy has a big heart.
