It was a short night in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but Sidney Crosby was determined to make sure everyone had an entertaining Friday evening. The Penguins rode his hat trick to a crucial Game 2 win, and we've documented it all in GIF form. You're welcome.

Sidney Crosby’s hat trick in Game 2 earned the Penguins a 2-0 series lead.
The Pens got out to a quick start. A really quick start. As in these two things happened in the first four minutes.
Sidney Crosby and Brenden Morrow weren't done with their assaults on the Ottawa net. But we'll get to that in a bit.

That whole sequence was a theme throughout the night. Pittsburgh scored, and Ottawa would answer. We’re in for a high-scoring series.
Unfortunately for the Sens, they have to try and keep up with the likes of Sidney Crosby.
Crosby finished off his hat trick in the first 21:15 of game time. Clearly the use of a functioning jaw is not necessary for scoring goals.
But remember: this is the Penguins we’re dealing with. They might be able to score at will, but playing in their own zone is not a strength.
For example, Colin Greening barreled to the net multiple times.
Sometimes violently.
At the other end, Robin Lehner was playing admirably in lieu of Craig Anderson.
Lehner stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced, and single-handedly kept the Senators in a game they really shouldn't have been in. Nonetheless, the Penguins continued their relentless assault and Morrow tipped in his first playoff goal since 2008.
Pittsburgh outshot the Senators 42-22 in Game 2. That ... well, it’s not very good. Ottawa might want to address that in Game 3.
Or the Senators can just keep waiting for Tomas Vokoun to channel his inner Marc-Andre Fleury.
Jean-Gabriel Pageau's goal made the score 4-3 as the Senators mounted a late comeback. It ultimately fell short, and Pittsburgh survived for a 4-3 win and a 2-0 series lead.
