Nathan Horton will be back on the ice for the Boston Bruins in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final and he says he has "no limitations" after leaving Game 1 with a shoulder injury. Horton missed most of the three overtime periods after re-injuring his shoulder, but he participated in the Bruins' morning skate on Saturday.
Bruins vs. Blackhawks, 2013 Stanley Cup Final Game 2: Nathan Horton back in lineup with ‘no limitations’
If Nathan Horton’s shoulder is a concern or in any way limiting, he’s not showing it ahead of Saturday’s Game 2.
If Horton is hurting, he didn’t show any of it when he met with the media, saying “I’m not in any pain.” He repeatedly said, “I feel good” and that he was never in danger of missing Game 2. When asked about what he did in the last two days, he made absolutely no mention of his injury.
“Just trying to get ready for Game 2 like any other player here,” Horton said. “Just looking at clips, what we need to do better. But I feel good personally.”
Horton has reportedly been dealing with his shoulder injury since April, but with the Bruins trailing in a series for the first time all playoffs, they will need Horton in Game 2. He is second in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with 18 points and alongside Milan Lucic and David Krejci, gives Boston a first line that can go toe-to-toe with Chicago's best.
As for whether the Blackhawks target him and his shoulder in Game 2, Horton isn't concerned.
“It’s the playoffs. Everyone’s playing physical. Everyone is playing strong. That’s the way the game is out there. Like I said, I have no limitations. You know, I’m good to go.”
