Stephen Weiss scored his first 2 goals in over a year
He hasn’t scored since Oct. 14, 2013 - a span of 21 games.
It's been a long, hard road over the past year for Detroit Red Wings forward Stephen Weiss after dealing with injuries, but he's back on the scoreboard in a big way.
Weiss scored his first goal since Oct. 14, 2013 in the second period against the Ottawa Senators (check the GIF). Weiss followed that 4:18 later with his second goal of the game. His second goal was good for his 400th career point.
After a weekend conditioning stint in Grand Rapids in which he scored two goals in two games, he’s virtually on fire now. Weiss scored two goals in 26 games last season - his first with the Detroit Red Wings after he signed a five-year, $24.5 million deal in the summer of 2013.
