When your team faces the Pittsburgh Penguins, trying to stop Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin is always going to be tough to do. The Boston Bruins couldn't stop either of them on Monday.
Penguins vs. Bruins 2014 final score: 3 things we learned from Pittsburgh’s 3-2 overtime win
If you don’t stop Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, you’re going to have a bad time.

Malkin scored twice, including the game-winning goal in overtime, to lead the Penguins to a 3-2 victory at TD Garden in Boston. Crosby had a goal and two assists and Marc-Andre Fleury saved 27 shots to earn his 300th career win. According to Elias, Fleury is the third-fastest goalie to 300 wins.
Per @EliasSports: In 547 games, M.A. Fleury becomes third-fastest goaltender to earn 300 wins, following J. Plante (521) and A. Moog (543).
— NHL Public Relations (@PR_NHL) November 25, 2014 Crosby came into the game without a point in two straight and wound up factoring in on all three Penguins goals. So much for slumps, right?
The Bruins got goals from Milan Lucic and Joe Morrow. For Morrow, it was his first career NHL goal and it came against the team that traded him away. Oh, semi-sweet satisfaction.
Three Things We Learned
1. The Bruins should try to score legally next time. Boston had two potential goals nullified in the game. Patrice Bergeron thought he had one early on, but after review it showed he knocked it in with a high stick. Carl Soderberg thought he had a goal in the third period, but had it waved off immediately by officials for putting it in with his glove. That play was also reviewed, but this time the NHL Situation Room upheld the call on the ice.
2. Milan Lucic is huge in Sweden. All right, maybe not the country of Sweden, but playing on a line with Swedes Carl Soderberg and Loui Eriksson has helped him get his season on track. He had a goal in the second period.
3. Combining Malkin and Crosby is just unfair. Yes, they had all of Pittsburgh’s offense, but then they went and did this in overtime (courtesy: @myregularface):
When Crosby is threading the needle through the defense to Malkin for a picture-perfect one-timer, that’s just not fair.
The Bruins defense didn't do much to help there either, as they got caught watching the majestic beauty of a superstar-laden game-winning overtime goal up close and personal. Brad Marchand at least gave a courtesy poke towards the pass, but it was just too good.
