Panthers, Blues trade three goals in 34 seconds of game time

Barnburner in St. Louis!

When it rains, it pours in St. Louis, apparently. After a stagnant first period that saw just seven combined shots between the Blues and Panthers, the teams went on an offensive explosion half way through the middle period that saw Florida come out on top.

Brandon Pirri started the scoring for the Panthers, going high on the backhand on a breakaway that put Florida up 1-0.

Thirteen seconds later, Derek MacKenzie notched his second of the year on a turnover from St. Louis, lifting the puck over the shoulder of Blues goaltender Jake Allen with no traffic in front.

Finishing the flurry was David Backes 21 seconds after MacKenzie's goal, cutting the Panthers lead to 2-1 all in the span of 34 seconds of game time.

Who knew Tuesday night hockey could be so much fun?
