Avram Grant To Stay On As West Ham Manager
One can’t help but think that this is just an attempt to backpedal by West Ham. The club were criticized for not standing behind their manager while they struggled. They then lost face when Martin O’Neill rejected their offer to take over as boss, with much of the press saying O’Neill did not like the way the announcement had been leaked. With so many now wondering exactly who would be crazy enough to accept the job with the Irons, it likely was simply a case of West Ham choosing the easy path.

There’s really no doubt that O’Neill will become the next West Ham manager. He’ll want to prove that he can keep the club out of the relegation zone (and if it comes at the expense of his former club, all the better, I’m sure). But he’s going to want a bit of coddling first, especially since Mssrs Gold and Sullivan are not exactly known for their excellent treatment of their managers.
