New Bosnian signing Edin Dzeko has made his first start for Roberto Mancini's title-chasing side against Wolves. Dzeko has started up front, looked quite the target man thus far yet City find themselves down a goal thanks to a Nenad Milijas close range tap in, the opener coming in the 12th minute.
Manchester City Vs. Wolves: Scrappy Wolves Take Early Lead At Eastlands
Dzeko made his first real contribution to City in the 6th minute when he won a free kick just outside of the box when a Stephen Hunt challenge was deemed too heavy by the referee. The resulting free kick produced little while Wolves certainly haven't traveled to Manchester to sit back and defend. Mick McCarthy's side has been active in City's half in the opening 20 minutes and that activity has payed off.
In a mad scramble in the box, Kolo Toure failed to effectively clear a loose ball and Milijas, playing the role of the opportunist, stuck with the half chance and finally slotted past Joe Hart from close range. While still early, Dzeko has looked bright up front winning headers and linking well with Carlos Tevez and Yaya Toure on multiple occasions.
