Fernando Torres had already wasted one chance in the match so he wasn't about to waste another. An 11th minute goal by Torres has doubled Chelsea's lead and left Racing Genk in their wake. There is almost certainly no way back now for a Genk side that has been depleted by injuries and just does not have the class to match Chelsea's in the UEFA Champions League Group E clash.
Chelsea Vs. Racing Genk Live, 2011 UEFA Champions League: Fernando Torres Makes It 2-0
A seventh minute chance for Torres went begging when he was in alone on goal, but hit the post from five yards. Four minutes later, with Raul Meireles having already put Chelsea in front, Frank Lampard slipped a pass into the Spaniard and put him in on goal. Torres took the chance confidently, slotting the ball home and putting the Blues ahead 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. It's a welcome goal for Torres, as he continues to try to shake the poor run of form that has haunted him since joining the Blues.
