Omar Bravo already hurt Chivas USA badly with a cheeky lob over Zach Thornton in the dying seconds of the first half, but Sporting Kansas City's designated player has wounded the hosts ever more deeply with his most recent strike, putting to bed any hopes of a Chivas comeback with a gorgeously composed finish to make the score 3-1 Kansas City. Bravo was played in behind the home defense but still had it all to do when faced with Thornton from a tight angle. No problem for Bravo, through - he dinked the ball over the goalkeeper cool as a cucumber for his second of the night.
Chivas USA Vs. Sporting Kansas City: Omar Bravo’s Second Makes It 3-1
Bravo's goal came just minutes after the Mexican picked up a yellow card for a rather rude shoulder barge on Chivas goalscorer Jimmy Conrad, bulldozing the defender as he header the ball clear. That moment aside, it's been a great debut for Bravo and so far a wonderful start to the season by Kansas City. Poor Thornton managed zero saves out of his first three attempts - it's not been his best night.
