Well that's a phenomenally vicious tackle from Blackpool captain Charlie Adam on Gareth Bale, and the Tottenham Hotspur winger is not in good shape at all. Having danced around Keith Southern, Bale was suddenly caught in a scissor-tackle style reducer from Adam and he looks to have hurt his ankle quite badly in the process. He's being stretchered off at White Hart Lane and it's very easy to see how he could have been hurt by that tackle - if he hadn't been wearing shin pads he'd have broken his leg on that.
Tottenham Hotspur Vs. Blackpool: Gareth Bale Ankle Injury Forces Winger Off
Adam, inexplicably, isn't even booked for the challenge. Adam should be off the pitch, but instead Tottenham are without their most explosive player (he's been replaced by Peter Crouch, which is like making a like for like substitution except the complete opposite). Hopefully Bale doesn't have anything more serious than a sprain, but that could easily be ligament damage to his ankle - the way he was lying on the floor twitching indicates that he was badly hurt. Fortunately, the initial assessments on Bale suggest that there's no break.
