Inter Milan vs. Parma, Preview: Who’s in worse form?

Parma's tricky winger and boyhood Inter Milan fan Nicola Sansone skipped past countless nerazzurri defenders on his way to netting the winning goal in a 1-0 at the Stadio Ennio Tardini in November, in a surprise victory for the hosts.

A repeat win at the San Siro on Sunday probably wouldn't come as so much of a shock. Inter have lost four of their last five matches, and have fallen to seventh place, a point outside the Europa League spots. They're in a slump which has Andrea Stramaccioni's position as coach looking less secure with every passing game, though he isn't helped by an enormous injury list.

Strama has called five players from the Primavera youth team for Sunday morning's game, in a squad entirely bandaged up. Tommaso Rocchi is quite literally the only fit first team striker -- and that's using 'first team' in its loosest possible sense.

As for Parma, they too have been disappointing of late, delivering what was their worst performance since Roberto Donadoni took over last January in a 3-0 defeat to Udinese last week -- and that's by the coach's own admission. They're still holding on to hopes of a top half finish, though sadly there's not much for the crociati fans to get excited about now (unless finishing tenth excites you).

For the gialloblu, midfielder Marco Parolo will return from suspension and will slot right back into the starting eleven after being badly missed last week, though McDonald Mariga, Raffaele Palladino and everyone's favourite Scottish Uruguayan Emilio MacEachen are all unavailable through injury. Key defender Gabriel Paletta has a one match suspension.
