Hannover vs. Bayern Munich: Final score 1-6, Bayern’s just setting records at this point

Bayern Munich continued their domination of the Bundesliga on Saturday with a 6-1 beating of Hannover.

Bayern Munich continued their domination of the Bundesliga with a 6-1 victory over Hannover. The win keeps them 20 points ahead of second place Borussia Dortmund and have a goal differential of +75. Seriously, it's +75. It's their 26th win of the season, which sets a new Bundesliga record.

Lars Stindl put Hannover down in the 13th minute when he deflected a David Alaba cross over the head of Ron-Robert Zieler into his own net. Franck Ribery made it 2-0 six minutes later. Claudio Pizarro played the Frenchman behind the Hannover defense, and Ribery shot past Zieler.

Pizarro grabbed his second assist of the match in the 40th minute, playing a through ball to Mario Gomez. The forward did one of his patented falling-down-while-shooting shots and beat Zieler to make it 3-0 before the half.

Gomez and Pizarro made it 5 and then 6-0 in the 62nd and 71st minutes when the two forwards finished crosses from Jerome Boateng and Alaba, respectively.

It wasn't all bad for Hannover (Okay, it's still pretty bad.). Andre Hoffman headed in a cross in the 85th minute after Manuel Neuer failed to properly secure it. The goal clearly angered Pizarro, and he scored a minute later to make it 6-1.

After clinching the league two weeks ago, the only thing Bayern are doing at this point is setting records. They’ll take the next step in the quest for their treble when they host Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal.

Hannover are now in 10th place, and seven points behind Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League race. It’s looking like they can kiss European football goodbye.
