Victor Casadesus forced a tremendous save from Betis goalkeeper Adrian and Hemed hammered a follow-up volley off the cross bar. The pressure continued until Hemed broke through in the 21st minute, finishing off a rebound with a shot from close range.

    Real Sociedad stays ahead of Valencia for fourth

    Valencia earned their third straight win and third straight clean sheet in a 1-0 defeat of Getafe. Jérémy Mathieu’s goal in the 44th minute was all the visitors needed to secure the full points as they continue to battle with Real Sociedad for fourth place. The goal came after a free kick was played short to Ever Banega who quickly centered to Mathieu at the top of the Getafe area. The defender drove a lovely shot past Miguel Moya from 20-yards out, giving Los Che the lead and the eventual win.

    Granada are on the cusp of being safe for another season thanks to a 3-0 defeat of Osasuna today.Youssef El Arabi’s 7th goal of the season put Granada ahead in the first half, getting behind the Osasuna defense and directing a Guillherme Siqueira cross into the back of the net.
