After three weeks, O.J. Atogwe has decided to remain with the Rams.
Rams Re-Sign Free Agent Safety O.J. Atogwe
Initially it appeared there might be a bidding war for the services of free agent safety O.J. Atogwe, who was released on June 1. After the first week, however, more and more teams indicated they didn’t have interest in him.
The Rams were always the front-runner to re-sign and, on Wednesday, that’s what they did, according to a press release.

Last week, Lions beat writer Tom Kowalski reported that free agent safety O.J. Atogwe’s salary demands are “high” and SB Nation’s Pride of Detroit agreed indicating that’s the reason he’s not getting many sniffs on the open market.
This week Kowalski reports the Lions haven’t ruled out adding Atwogwe.

About a week ago, there were as many as eight teams reportedly interested in the services of impeding free agent O.J. Atogwe. Once he finally hit the open market on Tuesday night, the interest went away. According to various reports, the Rams are the leader in the clubhouse to re-sign him while the Dolphins -- who have been heavy players in free agency -- are making a “strong push” for his services.
We’re now starting to realize why teams aren’t so interested in Atogwe. According to Lions beat writer Tom Kowalski, Atogwe’s salary demands are “extremely high” which is the reason the Lions and other teams aren’t climbing over each other to sign him.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports it’s likely coming down to the Dolphins, Vikings and Rams. However, the Dolphins beat writers are calling Atogwe a “long shot”. The Vikings are a darkhorse considering their name popped up just in the last couple of days.
