2010 World Cup, Spain Vs. Honduras: David Villa Goal Gives Spain 1-0 Halftime Lead

Spain goes into halftime in Johannesburg leading Honduras 1-0 on a brilliant David Villa, 18th minute strike.

The newest member of FC Barcelona’s individual effort – which started from 35 yards out and ended with a shot from 14 yards – saw him beat three men before scoring past Noel Valladares for the half’s only goal.

It was a half dominated by Spain, who did not give Honduras a show on goal, though La Furia Roja could have have more, with Fernando Torres missing two chances for his first tournament goal.

Spain held 66 percent of the half’s possession and had the only two shots on goal. Honduras only had one touch within the Spanish penalty area.
