2010 British Open At St. Andrews, Second Round: Play Resumes After Heavy Winds Had Forced Stoppage

After gusts of up to 40 MPH had forced a stoppage of nearly an hour during the second round of the 2010 British Open, play has resumed at St. Andrews for the afternoon groups.

Conditions are still quite blustery at St. Andrews, although the wind appears to have subsided a bit from the extreme gusts that had been moving golf balls on the greens. Still, with the elements firmly in play after a mild first day and early morning at St. Andrews, the afternoon groups will have a harder go of it to keep pace with journeyman South African Louis Oosthuizen, whose 5-under 67 in the second round brought him to 12-under for the tournament.

First-round leader Rory McIlory is 1-over on the day through four holes, falling back to 8-under on the tournament, good for second place, while Tiger Woods is 1-over through one hole after three-putting on the first green.
