With the deadline now just over 12 hours away, half of the players taken in the first round of June’s amateur draft remain unsigned. Those players are, in order:

14. Dylan Covey, Brewers
17. Josh Sale, Rays
23. Christian Yellich, Marlins
24. Gary Brown, Giants
25. Zack Cox, Cardinals
26. Kyle Parker, Rockies
28. Zach Lee, Dodgers
This is a very similar situation to last year’s, when all but two first rounders wound up agreeing to contracts before the deadline. This year, it is once again expected that nearly every first rounder will be signed, with only Barret Loux and Zach Lee standing out as strong possibilities to regain their draft eligibility. The likelihood, however, is that news only trickles in until the deadline is nearly upon us.
