Houston had never won an overtime game in its brief history, and [Donovan McNabb overtime joke]. Something had to give. The Texans scored the game’s final 20 points to pull off the comeback thriller.
McNabb and Matt Schaub combined for 923 passing yards, with neither team able to run for more than 2.4 yards per carry.

The New England Patriots led the New York Jets 14-7 late in the second quarter. The Jets re-claimed a little momentum as time expired in the first half, closing the gap to 14-10, and then completely dominated New England in the second half en route to a 28-14 victory.
Mark Sanchez - so putrid in a Week 1 loss to Baltimore - threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns, adding a two-point conversion to Braylon Edwards in the process. Dustin Keller had a monster game, as well, shredding the Patriots’ defense for 115 yards and a touchdown on seven receptions. Without Darrelle Revis for the entire second half, the Jets picked off Tom Brady twice, and a Jason Taylor sack and forced fumble (recovered by Bryan Thomas) put the game out of question late in the fourth quarter.

Michael Vick threw for 284 yards and ran for 37, while Lions rookie Jahvid Best gained 232 yards from scrimmage. Best scored one more touchdown than Vick, but LeSean McCoy added three scores of his own.
Detroit quarterback Shaun Hill threw for 335 yards, two scores, and two picks in Matthew Stafford’s absence. Brandon Pettigrew pulled in 108 yards on seven receptions. Calvin Johnson finally completed a touchdown catch to a referee’s satisfaction.

An opening kickoff returned for a score by Antonio Brown was enough scoring to last the Steelers’ until the game’s final minute, though Jeff Reed tacked on four field goals throughout.
Jeff Fisher benched Vince Young after the quarterback’s third turnover. Kerry Collins took over for his first action since the middle of last year. Collins threw a pick of his own and lost a fumble, but drove for Tennessee’s only touchdown and a two-point conversion.

Snelling, typically a utility back, took over the offense after Jerious Norwood was injured on the opening kickoff and Michael Turner hurt his groin in the second quarter. Atlanta’s backs combined for 221 yards rushing.
Both teams are now 1-1. Atlanta travels to New Orleans next week, and Arizona hosts the Raiders.
