NCAA Bracket 2011: Printable March Madness Field Updated Ahead Of Second Round

NCAA bracket 2012 is here.

Make sure you check out our NCAA Bracket Predictions to help fill out your bracket.

The 2011 NCAA Tournament’s First Four is in the books and we’ve updated our printable NCAA bracket to reflect the latest developments. On Tuesday, UNC-Asheville and Clemson made it out of the first round. Wednesday, it was Texas-San Antonio and VCU’s turn to punch a ticket to the second round, where Ohio State and Georgetown await.

The latest printable NCAA Tournament 2011 bracket can be found here.

Texas-San Antonio over Alabama State, 70-61. At the half, UTSA held a 27-point lead and looked poised to run away with the game. That all changed in the second half as Alabama State finally showed up and nearly made it a game. Gus Johnson was on red alert with time winding down, but the Hornets couldn’t quite get over the hump to pull even with UTSA. It was a tale of two halves for both teams as UTSA outscored Alabama State 48-21 in the first half, but were outscored 40-22 in the second. UTSA moves on to face Ohio State in the second round.

VCU over USC, 59-46. The Trojans came in as an easy favorite, but face-planted in the final First Four game of the year. But in an absolute snoozer, VCU pulled away in the second half to secure 13-point win. USC never got on track offensively, shooting 39.5 percent from the field and connecting just once from beyond the arc. That’s not to say VCU was much better, though. In fact, the Rams were worse. VCU shot 33.9 percent from the field, but hit 9-24 three-pointers as the Rams found the range, leaving USC in the dust. VCU moves on Georgetown in the second round.*

*No, I’m not getting used to calling the round of 64 the “second round.” It’s still the first round to most of America.
