NCAA Bracket 2011: Printable Bracket Updated With UConn’s National Championship Victory
From 68 to two and now to one, the 2011 NCAA Tournament is over and The UConn Huskies are the last team standing, having won the NCAA Championship over Butler. The game was not one for the ages, it wasn’t even one you want to think about at all, but a win’s a win and UConn racked up plenty of those over the last month.
Butler had the worst shooting evening in the history of the NCAA Title game and it showed. It was only thanks to UConn’s own miserable first-half shooting performance the Bulldogs were in the game. In the second-half, however, UConn pulled away, extended their lead to double-digits and never looked back. The Huskies held on to win their third NCAA Title since 1999 and ended the season on a winning streak that included runs through the Big East and NCAA Tournaments.
Kemba Walker led the way with 16 points for the Huskies, who helped validate the Big East somewhat after the conference's poor showing in the early tournament.
