Jake Locker NFL Draft Workouts Include Vikings, Seahawks, Titans

QB Jake Locker is expected to be a first round pick in the 2011 NFL draft and the former Washington Huskies QB is going through workouts with various NFL teams to prove he’s worth it.

The National Football Post reports Locker will workout with the Minnesota Vikings while NFL Network reports that he’s also scheduled to work out with the Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans. All three teams could use a quarterback so working Locker out is a no-brainer.

The Vikings are entering the season without QB Brett Favre and with QB Joe Webb so they’ll be in the market for a quarterback when they pick 12th next April. The Seahawks may go with QB Matt Hasselbeck but they also have to find a quarterback of the future. Drafting Locker, and letting him sit for a year or two may make sense. Seattle would be the local team so I imagine fans would like this move. The Titans are moving forward with QB Vince Young so they could also be in the market for a quarterback.

At best, Locker will be the third quarterback taken behind QB Blaine Gabbert and QB Cam Newton. Both players are expected to be top 10, or near-top 10 picks in the 2011 NFL draft.
