Tyler Honeycutt will leave UCLA Bruins basketball to enter the 2011 NBA Draft, he announced Monday. UCLA fans have been expecting this for a while now (and consistently blaming coach Ben Howland while they're at it), so the six-foot-eight sophomore's decision to try his chances shouldn't be too much of a surprise. He'd previously said UCLA's chances of winning a title next season would factor into his decision.

He’s projected as a late-first- or early-second-rounder, but Howland expects him to go in the first. The star forward averaged 12.8 points and 7.2 rebounds for the Bruins in 2010-11, showing off a versatile scoring talent that includes a deep-shooting touch.
Honeycutt expects to hire an agent, which would eliminate any chance of him returning to school to play ball. After May 8 he’ll no longer have any college eligibility.
