For months, one of the most eagerly-awaited game on the Miami Heat's schedule has been Friday night's contest against the NBA-best San Antonio Spurs. And when the two teams tip off (9:30 p.m., ESPN), it appears as though both teams will be at full strength. In a big surprise, the Spurs' Tony Parker appears ready to take the floor against LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the Heat.
Heat Vs. Spurs: Tony Parker Looks To Return Early From Injury To Face LeBron James And Company
Thanks to a calf injury, Parker was expected to be out for anywhere between two and four weeks, and the absence of the Spurs’ No. 2 scorer has been felt. San Antonio is a game removed from a 109-93 clobbering at home against Memphis.
The Heat, certainly, are trying to overcome frustrations of their own. On Thursday night, they managed to surrender a 24-point lead and lose to the Orlando Magic, which made for their third defeat in four games. Despite recent struggles, we’ll still be treated to a marquee match-up, as the most star-studded team in the NBA tips off against the team with the best record.
