Dodgers’ Casey Blake Probably Heading To DL

Dodgers third baseman Casey Blake has missed the last two games with an ugly injury, and now it looks like he'll miss a few more. Dylan Hernandez:

Casey Blake is probably DL-bound. Elbow is infected. Fever spiked last night, forced him to go to a hospital.

It’s not been a real healthy spring for Blake. He missed much of spring training with “inflammation in his lower thoracic region” before returning to the lineup on April 6. He missed Monday night’s game with groin tightness. Then Tuesday his elbow swelled to the size of a grapefruit before it was drained (ewww). Blake doesn’t know how it happened, but thinks it might be the result of diving for a ball but couldn’t remember a specific play.

Juan Uribe's been unable to start lately because of a thigh injury, but he did pinch-hit Tuesday night. If healthy, he'll probably see some time at third base along with Aaron Miles, who started there Tuesday.
