Rockies starter Esmil Rogers has been on the disabled list with a lat injury, and he recently experienced a setback while throwing that was cause for concern. Rogers expressed worry that he might've hurt his rotator cuff, and he was shuttled away into an expensive MRI machine so that the organization could get a clearer picture of the nature of the problem.
Esmil Rogers Injury Is Just A Mild Lat Strain
Well hey, good news! That problem? It’s not much of a problem. Writes Thomas Harding:
Good news on Rockies RHP Esmil Rogers. Mild strain of the right lat muscle. No rotator cuff issue as feared.
Just a simple lat strain, with no rotator cuff involvement. So while it’s a bummer that Rogers still has a little soreness, it doesn’t look like anyone has to worry about this being a major issue. He should be just fine before too long.
While Rogers works his way back to the rotation, sinkerballer Clayton Mortensen should keep his spot warm.
