On April 19, Mets third baseman David Wright attempted to make a diving tag of Carlos Lee. He injured his back on the play, and it's bothered him off and on ever since. But Alderson admits that he’s at least a little afraid of the injury lingering, and the DL is obviously a possibility.
Wright owns a .741 OPS on the year with six home runs. His numbers have actually gotten better since the date of his injury, which comes as a surprise. For as long as he's out, expect to see a fair amount of Willie Harris at third base.
