The New York Mets have postponed Saturday's game against the Atlanta Braves in anticipation of Hurricane Irene's move up the East Coast. The Mets had originally cancelled just Sunday's meeting, pushing Saturday's game up to 1 p.m. ET from its original 4 p.m. slot. It appears the entire city is batting down the hatches, with New York City planning to close down public transportation on Saturday at noon and Mayor Michael Bloomberg ordering a mandatory evacuation of the city's coastal areas.
