Alfonzo Dennard Arrested A Week Before The NFL Draft

NFL draft prospect and former Huskers cornerback Alfonzo Dennard was arrested on Saturday morning in connection with an alleged fight.

Nebraska cornerback Alfonzo Dennard may have seen his 2012 NFL draft stock take a hit this weekend when he was arrested for third-degree assault on an officer after he reportedly punched a Lincoln police officer. The Omaha World-Herald reports the incident took place on Saturday morning.

Lincoln police said Dennard, 22, was fighting with another man outside a bar near 14th and O Streets about 2:15 a.m.

When officers attempted to intervene, Dennard allegedly pushed and then punched one officer in the face.

Per the report, it took four officers to bring down the 5’10, 204-pound Dennard. He was arrested on charges of third-degree assault on an officer as well as resisting arrest and another third-degree assault for the alleged fight.

Dennard was projected as a second round pick, but that was before this incident took place. The NFL draft starts on Thursday night.

On the other hand, if this study is accurate, Dennard’s arrest may not be such a bad thing.
