Michael Bush Lands With Chicago Bears On 4-Year Contract

The free agent running back market was slow to develop but now one of the top available players has agreed to terms with a new team. According to multiple reports, RB Michael Bush will be joining the Chicago Bears. The two sides agreed to a four-year, $14 million that includes $7 million guaranteed.

This could be viewed as some Matt Forte insurance. The Bears starting running back is under the franchise tag so if the Bears can't do a long-term deal with him then they'll have Bush in the fold already.

But assuming Forte does ultimately sign a long-term deal, he'll have a new partner in the backfield. Bush is a huge back at 6'2 and 243 pounds. He's spent his career as the backup in Oakland after the Raiders made him a fourth round pick in the 2007 NFL draft. His best season came in 2011 as he replaced Darren McFadden for a chunk of the year. He finished with 977 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.
