Jake Locker injury: Titans QB could return in Week 8

The Titans quarterback is looking to return Oct. 28 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker will miss his third straight start in Week 7 on Sunday with a separated shoulder, but is shooting for a return in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 28, according to a report from Yahoo! Sports on Thursday.

Locker returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since going down with the injury on Sept. 30 against the Houston Texans, according to the report. Backup Matt Hasselbeck has started in place of Locker and will do so again this Sunday when the Titans travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills.

Tennessee head coach Mike Munchak also noted in the report that when Locker is ready to return he’ll resume his role as the team’s starting signal-caller, saying, “There wouldn’t be any doubt that he’d be the guy playing.”

In his four starts this season, Locker has passed for 781 yards -- completing 63.2 percent of his throws -- and 4 touchdowns with 2 interceptions.
