New York City Marathon 2013: Route information, course map and more
Runners at the ING New York City Marathon will begin in Staten Island before finishing the race in Central Park.
The ING New York City Marathon is set to begin for Sunday starting in Staten Island before finishing in Central Park.
The full course map for the marathon has been released on the marathon’s official website, featuring a route that goes through Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and The Bronx before traveling south back to Manhattan. Runners will begin by crossing the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge before traveling along Fourth Avenue through Brooklyn.
Runners will then follow Bedford Avenue toward Queensboro Bridge before traveling north on First Avenue to 138th Street. Finally, the competitors will travel south on Fifth Avenue to Central Park South, where the finish line is near the southwest corner of the park.
Professional women are scheduled to start the race at 9:10 a.m. ET followed by professional men at 9:40 a.m. The full list of starting times can be found on the marathon website. The full schedule of events for the weekend can be found here.
