The New Orleans Saints lost running back Khiry Robinson for what looks like an extended period in Sunday’s game. The running back was carted off in the second quarter of the Saints’ 52-49 win over the New York Giants and was taken to the hospital at halftime with what appeared to be a broken leg.
Khiry Robinson carted off; Saints, fantasy owners should prepare to look elsewhere
The New Orleans running back appears to have broken his leg. We break down the fantasy implications.

Robinson, serving as the change-of-pace back for starter Mark Ingram, had four rushing yards on four carries Sunday, adding 13 receiving yards on a pair of catches. Robinson has four touchdowns on the season, including two on the ground a week ago, and 180 rushing yards on 56 carries.
Fantasy impact: With both Ingram and C.J. Spiller in the fold and with both carrying fairly length injury histories, Robinson had some appeal as something of a double handcuff. That’s likely over now, as Robinson was fitted for an air-cast before even being carted off the field Sunday. At the very least, this looks to be an extended absence, and there’s probably a good chance Robinson’s season is over.
For Ingram and Spiller, this raises their respective stocks a small amount. Robinson wasn’t getting a load of carries, but he was serving as a nice little touchdown vulture on occasion, and that’s gone now. Ingram was a mid-to-low RB1 before this and probably climbs a few spots, while Spiller will move from rankings in the 40s to the mid-30s.
