Oakland Raiders running back Latavius Murray was forced from the game Sunday after a big hit left him limp on the field. The team feared a concussion from the injury and Murray didn’t return to the game, which Oakland eventually lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 38-35.
Latavius Murray leaves after big hit; Raiders, fantasy owners fear concussion
The Oakland running back went limp after a hard hit Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Murray had 17 carries for 96 yards in the game before his injury, losing one fumble. The hit came lower on Murray’s body, but he went limp on the field and bore all the hallmarks of a concussion, and his helmet was taken away on the sidelines.
Fantasy impact: Roy Helu Jr. was a healthy scratch in this game, so with Murray out, the Raiders had Taiwan Jones and Marcel Reece available at running back. If Murray is forced to miss time, Helu will probably get a look again, though Jones and Reece will be the primary ball-carriers.
There’s no way to know at this point whether Murray will be forced to miss the Raiders’ Week 10 game; he’ll have to go through the league’s concussion protocol. If he’s active as the Raiders host the Minnesota Vikings, Murray will be a solid RB2; if it’s an amalgam of Jones, Reece and Helu, none of the three will be ranked in the top 25 at the position, though Reece and Helu both carry PPR upside.
