In the team’s first game since star running back Le’Veon Bell was lost for the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers might not have noticed the difference Sunday. Veteran running back DeAngelo Williams had a huge game in the Steelers’ 38-35 win over the Oakland Raiders.
Fantasy football waiver wire advice: DeAngelo Williams has monster game filling in
The veteran running back had more than 200 total yards. We break down the fantasy implications.

Williams carries the ball 27 times Sunday for 170 yards and two touchdowns. He added two receptions for 55 more yards. Jordan Todman had the team’s only other carry for running backs, going for three yards.
Fantasy impact: The Steelers’ offense was almost entirely Williams and Antonio Brown; the two combined for 531 yards from scrimmage, with the team totaling 597. With quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffering a foot injury late in Sunday’s game, the Steelers will need Williams to continue to be strong going forward in order to keep contending in the AFC.
The Steelers play against an awful Cleveland Browns run defense in Week 10 before a Week 11 bye. Williams, who should have been owned in all leagues before Sunday’s explosion, now has no excuse to be on the waiver wire, and he’ll be an easy RB1 in Week 10.
