A.J. Green believed to have torn his hamstring in the Bills vs. Bengals game

Just the worst start for the Bengals.

It didn’t take long for the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday to get off to a rough start. Their star wide receiver, A.J. Green, went down with a hamstring injury in their game against the Buffalo Bills. The news after the game wasn’t good. He’s believed to have torn his hamstring, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Green has been one of the best receivers in the NFL this season, and had an injury scare last week when the Bengals played the Giants on Monday Night Football, but Green fought through it.

Green was put on the cart after just the second play from scrimmage, and was taken out of the game.

The Bengals said that Green’s return is questionable. He was late downgraded to out for the game

Green came into Sunday’s game against the Bills as the second leading receiver in the NFL with 964 yards. He’s been a big reason why the Bengals are eighth in total offense this year.

The Bengals desperately needed a win to stay in the AFC North race. With Green potentially out for the season, that task becomes next to impossible for Marvin Lewis’ squad.
