Rob Kelley introduced himself as ‘Fat Rob’ on ‘Sunday Night Football’

Jeanna Kelley
Jeanna Kelley has been covering the Falcons for The Falcoholic since 2011 and the NFL for SB Nation since 2015.

Washington running back Rob Kelley earned the nickname “Fat Rob” in college, and even though that’s no longer the case, the moniker has stuck. Kelley may find that more people are calling him “Fat Rob” after he introduced himself that way during Sunday Night Football.

Kelley has taken over the bulk of the carries for Washington, and he has 287 rushing yards and a touchdown so far this season.

The nickname came about when Kelley gained some weight during his senior season at Tulane.

“I don’t really care, I’m just happy what I’m doing. They can call me whatever they want,” Kelley told reporters.

Kelley clearly doesn’t mind the nickname, since he’s using it in his Sunday Night Football introduction.
