Cincinnati Bengals star receiver A.J. Green could return before the end of the season after an MRI revealed he didn’t severely injure his hamstring and only suffered a sprain in the first quarter of a 16-12 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
A.J. Green could return for the Bengals in 2016 from hamstring injury
The Bengals’ slim playoff hopes look a little brighter with some good news Monday.

After Green dropped a throw from Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, he fell to the ground and rolled over in pain. He grabbed his right hamstring and was carted off the field.
Following the game, Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said this to reporters: “I don’t know when he can come back, but he has a hamstring injury.”
On Monday, Lewis said it’s a strain and that he’ll definitely miss the team’s Week 12 game against the Baltimore Ravens, but could still come back before the end of the season.
The loss of Green is bad news for the Bengals, who are fighting for a playoff spot in a tough AFC North division, but it looked like it could’ve been much worse news. With its top playmaker expected to miss time, Cincinnati will have to depend on its rushing attack and other players to step up.
This season, Green has 66 catches for 964 yards and four touchdowns.
