Richard Sherman will be playing in the snow for the first time in this week’s Seahawks vs. Packers game

He’ll get that chance Sunday in Green Bay.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has experienced many things during his career in the NFL. He has been selected to three Pro Bowls, won a Super Bowl, and was named a first-team All-Pro three times.

However, the Southern California native has never played football in snow. That should change Sunday when the Seahawks travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers in Week 14.

The Seahawks have played in frigid conditions before, most notably in Minnesota last January when they beat the Vikings 10-9 in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. That game was the third-coldest in NFL history.

Sherman told the Seattle Times this week that “anything else is an oven compared to that.” Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said the team will be prepared for the conditions in Green Bay.

“We’re going to take advantage to the fact that our weather is pretty similar to theirs and get out when we can here when it makes sense for us, and we’ll get ready for a team that’s really hitting it,” Carroll said.

Carroll also mentioned that both teams will have to deal with the possible conditions.

“It will probably be the same on both sides,” he said. “Unless it’s snowing on one side and not the other side or something like that, it’s going to be equal. We’ve been in some pretty severe situations so we’re okay about it.”

Last week, the Packers played through the snow to beat the Houston Texans in Green Bay. Perhaps if Sherman picks off a pass from Aaron Rodgers, he’ll take a page from Randall Cobb’s book and make snow angels at Lambeau Field.
