Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander had nine sacks and zero interceptions in his first nine NFL seasons, but in his first season with the Buffalo Bills, he has tallied 10 sacks and posted his first career interception Sunday.
Lorenzo Alexander’s dream season continues with first career interception
It took until his 10th season in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills linebacker to have a career year.
In a snowy game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Alexander stepped in front of a pass from Ben Roethlisberger and returned it nearly 30 yards before he was finally dragged down.
Making the interception even more impressive is the fact that it came against Roethlisberger in the red zone, where he rarely makes mistakes.
Alexander, 33, was an undrafted free agent in 2007 and landed in Washington where he played for his first six seasons, even making a Pro Bowl as a special teamer. He made stops with the Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders, but got a shot as a defensive starter in Buffalo and has made the most of it.
