Melvin Gordon carted off with hip injury in Chargers vs. Panthers

San Diego Chargers running back Melvin Gordon was injured after he attempted to recover a fumble against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

KK Short of the Panthers forced a fumble on Philip Rivers, and it appeared that Thomas Davis rolled up on his leg. A cart was brought onto the field for Gordon. The Chargers have ruled him out for the remainder of the game.

Gordon’s had a resurgent sophomore season after a disappointing rookie year. Heading into Sunday’s game against the Panthers, Gordon had rushed for 992 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season.
