Eagles’ comeback attempt ended with Carson Wentz sack and fumble

The Philadelphia Eagles were in the midst of a beautiful drive for what could have been a game-winning touchdown. Carson Wentz got the offense inside the 15-yard line with less than 30 seconds remaining in regulation.

Then it all went wrong:

Wentz was tormented by Ryan Kerrigan all day. Kerrigan forced the fumble, then Trent Murphy scooped up the ball to seal a 27-22 win for Washington that should improve its Wild Card chances.

With the loss, the Eagles fall to 5-8. Washington improves to 7-5-1.
