New York Giants left tackle Ereck Flowers didn’t do the best job of protecting Eli Manning’s blind side in the second quarter of Sunday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys.

Cowboys defensive end Benson Mayowa comes off the edge, and he rolls right around Flowers, who barely gets a hand on him. Mayowa gets to Eli Manning, forcing a fumble, which was recovered by Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee.

The Giants are tied with the Green Bay Packers for 24th in the league in turnover differential at -5. New York has allowed 16 sacks so far this season, and Dallas managed to get to Manning twice in the first half of Sunday Night Football.

Michele Tafoya said on the game broadcast that head coach Ben McAdoo acknowledged the Giants have to get Flowers some help protecting Manning.

The turnover was one of two in the first half. Sean Lee forced a fumble in the first quarter that was recovered by his teammate, Cedric Thornton. The Giants were unable to score before the half, and trail the Cowboys 7-0.
