New York Jets running back Matt Forte told reporters on Tuesday that he would, “definitely” be ready for the team’s first game of the 2016 season against the Cincinnati Bengals. New to the Jets this year, Forte missed the team’s first preseason game last week with a sore hamstring and is not expected to hit the field until New York’s third preseason game.
Matt Forte says he will be ready for Week 1, remains a top fantasy option
The Jets’ new running back tells the media he will be ready for the team’s 2016 regular-season opener. We break down the fantasy implications.

After eight years with the Chicago Bears, Forte signed with the Jets this offseason as a free agent. Last season, the running back rushed for under 1,000 yards for the first time since 2011.
Fantasy impact: In 2016, Forte is hoping to get a fresh start in New York and reclaim his title as one of the top running backs in fantasy football. With the news of his hamstring injury this summer, Forte has seen his 2016 ADP slightly decrease in both 12-team standard leagues and PPR leagues.
However, he can still be a solid RB1 option for a fantasy owners that opt to draft a running back after the first few rounds.
