The New Orleans Saints updated their preseason depth chart on Tuesday and it included running back C.J. Spiller listed as the team’s fourth-string running back. His spot on the roster is reportedly in jeopardy and it would not come as a surprise if he was released by the Saints before the start of the 2016 season.
C.J. Spiller listed on the bottom of the Saints’ depth chart, fantasy value continues to free fall
The running back’s time with the Saints could be coming to a close sooner than later. We break down the fantasy implications.

Spiller is coming off a 2015 season in which he ran for a career low 112 yards. He did also catch 34 passes last year, but it is clear that the New Orleans running back is far from the player he was when he entered the NFL in 2010.
Fantasy impact: Spiller was unlikely to be drafted by anyone this year, but this news just further solidifies this thought.
With the Buffalo Bills early in his career, Spiller seemed as though he was developing into one of the league’s best fantasy options at running back. He left Buffalo to join the Saints in 2015 as a free-agent and his time in New Orleans has been far from successful.
