2018 is the year of Jaguars trash talking

The Jaguars are undefeated ... in trash talk. We review the most recent example in Friday’s Rise ‘n Grind, plus more of today’s NFL news.

In 2017, the Jaguars finally fielded a respectable football team and is it just me, or has it gone to their heads?

This is a team that didn’t have a winning season from 2008 to 2016. So it’s cute that they’re all the sudden so cocky, but uh, can they remember back to just two years ago?

It appears they can’t as 2018 has been the year of Jaguars trash talk.

It actually started in 2017, when the Jaguars started getting hot. And I guess it’s not only trash talk. It’s Leonard Fournette waving to a defender who failed to bring him down and Yannick Ngakoue strip-sacking Ben Roethlisberger and then Telvin Smith pointing at Le’Veon Bell as he scored a touchdown, followed by Myles Jack putting up an L shape on his helmet as he looked straight into cameras filming him. This Jaguars team is all about rubbing in your face that they’re better than you.

Jalen Ramsey is the leader of the trash talking. He’s done SO much trash talking that we had to make an entire timeline devoted to his hating ways. Remember when he got in A.J. Green’s head and both Ramsey and Green were ejected from a game? Ramsey soon after claimed he didn’t know who (then) Steelers safety Mike Mitchell was, even though he obviously did. More recently, Ramsey said Jimmy Garoppolo didn’t belong on the NFL’s Top 100 list. And don’t even get him started on his opinions on himself. There’s no one greater than Jalen Ramsey, in the eyes on Jalen Ramsey.

Did we mention that even the Jaguars’ official Twitter account has gotten in on the trash talk? And honestly, they aced this jab.

A new Jaguars player stepped up to the plate on Wednesday to add to all the trash talk. It was running back Leonard Fournette and his target was Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Elliott’s birthday is approaching and he asked his Twitter followers what they’d be getting him. Well, Fournette had quite the response for the 228 pound running back.

It looks like the Jaguars players have no plans of slowing down their trash talking. And ya know what? They’re pretty good at it. As long as they continue winning, I guess we can expect them to continue putting down those who subject themselves to the abuse.

Who will be the Jaguars’ next target? Jacksonville takes on the Giants in Week 1, so maybe Odell Beckham Jr.? Oh, and just you wait for the next Jags vs. Steelers game, which arrives in Week 11 and should be a great opportunity for added smack talk. Mark your calendar for November 18 at 8:20 p.m. ET; primetime, of course!

The Browns don’t get a lot of things right. But they nailed this tribute to the ‘The Office’ featuring Tyrod Taylor as Michael Scott, Jarvis Landry as Pam Halpert and Joe Schobert as Creed Bratton. The Myles Garrett part is just perfect as he shreds an image of division-rival Ben Roethlisberger.

Basically, the Browns are killing social media this week as this is their third call out of the week in out Tweet of the Day feature.
