No. 1 Michigan vs. Northwestern final score: Wolverines make easy work of Wildcats, 68-46

Michigan can now look ahead to the Big Ten’s biggest match-up of the year against the Indiana Hoosiers at Assembly Hall on Saturday.

On top of the college basketball landscape for the first time since the Fab Five was on the floor, the No. 1 Michigan Wolverines dispatched their conference foe, the Northwestern Wildcats, 68-46 Wednesday night at the Crisler Center.

Michigan went into the locker room for halftime with a 15-point lead and never looked back as they notched their 20th win of the season. The Wildcats dropped to 12-10 and have now lost six Big Ten conference games. Michigan controlled the ball well all evening, turning the ball over just twice compared to Northwestern’s six turnovers.

Four Michigan players ended the game in double figures, led by Trey Burke with 18 points and eight assists on the night. Glenn Robinson III and Nik Stauskas chipped in 13 and 11 points, respectively, while Jon Horford finished with 10 points.

Only one Wildcat finished the night in double figures, with Alex Olah dropping 10 points. Jared Swopshire was the closest to him in the final box score with eight points.

The Wolverines will head to Assembly Hall for an all top-five match-up with the No. 3 Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday, while Northwestern will head home to face the Purdue Boilermakers.
