Three players for LSU scored in double figures, led by 20 points from Anthony Hickey, who struggled with his shot. He was 1-of-7 from three, but made the most of his attempts inside the arc, shooting 9-of-17 overall. Johnny O'Bryant III had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Not surprisingly, Phil Pressey led the way for Missouri with 25 points to go along with five assists and four steals. Backcourt play was particularly important for Missouri to get back into the game, as big man Alex Oriakhi was limited to one point and was hampered by foul trouble. The No. 17 team in the country also scored just 12 points off the bench.

LSU led by as much as 16 in the second half before Missouri started to come back. Missouri used a 12-0 run to draw to within four points before Hickey answered back with seven straight. LSU missed four free throws in the final 30 seconds to give Missouri some life, but Missouri could not capitalize.
